USURP - Usurp Art Gallery and Studios

Rub-A-Dubstep is not only about pushing Dubstep but also projects that aim to promote art in new and innovative ways.

We've recently noticed a group called USURP holding events at Trinity in Harrow. The Night is called Breaks, Beer and Shakespear mixing spoken word, with Breakcore, Glitchcore, IDM and Dubstep and is headed up by Natalie 'N-Core' Leer. This instantly caught our eye because they play Dubstep as well as other forms of breaks and were doing it in a different way. Read on to find out a bit more about the people behind it.

USURP is a not for profit organisation partnered with The Adivasi Arts Trust and Tokyo Rinpa Eshidan.

"Usurp Gallery is the only contemporary art space in Harrow - an area that has the most diverse range of languages and one of the largest Asian populations in the UK. Usurp is providing exhibition space, producing performances, film and sound art events, and facilitating artist residencies.

Open to experimental ideas in all media, Usurp supports artists to collaborate with communities in research and action. They actively encourage a wide range of audiences to participate in the creation of artworks that challenge conformity, prejudice and discrimination."

Well there you have it an introduction to USURP - We will be featuring them every day this week till Friday.
