DJ/Producer Highlight - Crocodile

I've got a dirty secret and because i'm a nice guy i'm gonna share it with you. (cue dirty dubstep laugh)......

When I got sent a link to a crocodile track from magz (our resident talent manager) I knew he must be good....but this made me crank up my sub and skank out like a crazy demented limbless fool; Pure warpy madness and fresh samples for ya ears!!

This week our DJ/Highlight of the week is Crocodile, hailing from North London. Read below to find out a bit more about 'Crocodile' my filthy little Dubstep secret.

Christopher Rhys Field, a.k.a. Crocodile (or Crocs) is a North London based producer who has been
making dubstep since may 2009, armed only with previous experience in making techno/trance and
breakbeat tunes for fun.

A love of electronic music began with four years learning jazz saxophone from age 8, before starting
guitar lessons at 12. Several years later young crocs became enthralled watching Muse clips & DVDs,
collecting their albums and more importantly, becoming obsessed by the sound of Matt Bellamy's
custom Manson guitars with the embedded Fuzz Factories, proximity sensors, MIDI ribbons, laser
lights... which led quickly to an interest in circuitry and the technology side of music, however an
affection for electronica was truly established after dancing to Enter Shikari's Korg-riddled trance
rhythms at the Hammersmith Palais in March 2007.

To date, Crocodile has been in 8 bands, toured spain playing bass in a big band, written numerous
electronic tunes (across genres trance, techno, breakbeat, electronica, chemical, ambient, dubstep,
drumstep, dnb) and has so far made £25 from doing so.

Crocodile is currently expanding operations to include liquid funk and electro house (for each of
which a different alias will be assumed), whilst continuing dubstep.

The current kit list consists of a Korg Kaoss Pad 2, ESX-1 and microKORG, a Fender Jaguar HH, a
circuit bent casio, a Technics FGservo, a Behringer VMX200, Cubase SX3, Ableton Live Suite 8, Reason
4 and a number of VSTs and FX units, with plans to soon add a nanoKONTROL and APC20 for live use.
